Air Fryer Chicken Gravy Dunker Sub

A toasted air fryer sub filled with tender chicken and rich gravy, perfect for dunking. Quick to make, hearty, and ideal for an easy lunch or comfort-style dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 bakery-style bread roll sub roll or soft white roll
  • 1 cup shredded rotisserie chicken
  • ½-¾ cup grated cheese Tasty or Colby
  • 2-3 Tbsp caramelized onions
  • 1 spring onion finely diced
  • chicken gravy for dipping

Instructions

  • Slice the bread roll lengthways, but not all the way through. Open it up like a book and lay it flat.
  • Spread the caramelized onions over the inside of the roll. Top with grated cheese — this helps everything melt together beautifully.
  • Scatter the shredded rotisserie chicken over the cheese.
  • Place the open roll into the air fryer basket. Air fry at 180°C for 3-4 minutes. Cook until the cheese is melted. Make sure the roll is golden and the chicken is heated through.
  • Remove from the air fryer and sprinkle over the diced spring onions.
  • Dish up with a bowl of hot chicken gravy on the side. This is your dunking station! It’s the star of the show.
