The best green beans with crispy bacon are as simple and delicious as they come. Use fresh or frozen beans to make this quick tasty side dish, it is sure to please your family at any time of the year.

What you will need

  • 1kg bag of frozen or fresh whole baby beans
  • 3 rashers of bacon
  • 2 tbsp of the herb butter (find the recipe for this further down)
  • Frying pan

How to make your green beans

Place the frozen beans in a pot of salted hot water. Remove the beans once the water starts to boil. Drain and rinse under cold water. If you are using fresh beans snap the flower end of the bean, wash and prepare the same way as the frozen beans.

If you are making this dish for a special occasion, you can prep it ahead of time and place the cold cooked beans in a bag and store in the fridge until you need them.

Cook the 3 rashers of bacon until crispy. Heat the beans in a frying pan, add the garlic and herb butter and toss through the beans and bacon.

Serve Warm.

  • 3 rashers bacon sliced
  • 2 tbsp herb butter recipe can be found in the link on this post

Instructions
