Updated Recipe!

I have just updated the recipe. After receiving so many questions I have revised the original recipe from the video. It now has less sugar and less milk powder. It is still just as nice if not even better!

I wanted to make condensed milk dressing the other night to go with our salad. I had none left in the pantry, my first thought was dang it! I had planned on making this so long ago but I just never got around to it. So I did research and found the best method and the quickest one with the best results.

What is a kiwi summer without condensed milk dressing for cooled boiled potatoes and salad?

So I set about making it and was pleasantly surprised it was a great success!

The BEST Method

If you have a high powered blender or food processor it will give you the best results. I tried using both my Thermomix and I used my stand mixer.

Both work well but the stand mixer has a slightly grainy feel on the tongue. However, it makes no difference to the finished product. I have since used it for making Salted caramel ice cream and it is divine!

Another method I could find was to simmer milk down with sugar. I didn’t want to try that way as I could see the potential for burning the mix.

  1. Hi
Do you perhaps have the measurements in grams? I prefer to use weight instead of volume, as I find it to deliver consistent results 😅

  2. Will this thicken and set with lemon juice because I make my lemon meringue with condensed milk egg yolk and lemon juice. Condesed milk has gotten to expensive in my country?

  3. Could you heat water in microwave just till it starts to boil then take it out and put in the sugar. It will dissolve the sugar and no need to use stove.
